UPCOMING OPPORTUNITIES….

TOUCH OF WARMTH MINISTRY:

 Those who participated in the Fall Bible Study and went on the pilgrimage to Durham, have continued to meet and have been joined by others from our church as well as churches from our community.  We are now operating under the name of Touch of Warmth Ministry.  We are excited about the opportunities we have coming up to reach out “unto the least of these”.  The next opportunity will be on July 3^rd when our ministry will provide their second meal with the Food for All ministry in Hillsborough.  Our church is being asked to provide 100 sandwiches and apples while other churches will be supplying other parts of the meal.  If you are willing to make 10 sandwiches of any kind or donate a few apples, please let Lee Floyd or Martha Hamilton know.  The food needs to be at our church by Thursday

 July 3^rd at 5:00 p.m.  Thank you!

 OCIM FOOD ITEMS:

 Food banks of North Carolina have been hit very hard these last few months as more and more people find themselves unable to feed their families due to economic problems.  PLEASE remember that if everyone in the church would bring ONE food item each week to worship, OCIM’s shelves would be much fuller!!

 SPECIAL OFFERINGS FOR NATURAL DISASTERS:

 Natural disasters have struck all over the world recently, including right here in the United States.  UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) is already at work trying to meet the needs of those most affected.  From the earthquake in China, to the typhoon in Myanmar to the tornadoes and fires in the United States, UMCOR is there to help.  If you would like to contribute above and beyond your normal tithes to UMCOR’s relief in any of these areas, please mark your check memo area for UMCOR and we will send one check from the church.
